We encourage kids fighting cancer to Never Ever Give Up!
The Jessie Rees Foundation is inspired by 12-year-old Jessica Joy Rees. Jessie was a beautiful, athletic, compassionate girl who fought two brain tumors from March 3rd, 2011, to January 5th, 2012.
While receiving treatment, Jessie learned that some of the other children fighting cancer were unable to leave the hospital for weeks or months. So, she asked her parents, “How can we help them?” From that day forward, Jessie focused on spreading hope and joy to other kids battling cancer to help ease the burden of feeling lonely and limited – feelings that Jessie knew firsthand.
Jessie started sharing her message to Never Ever Give Up (NEGU) with other kids fighting cancer. She also created JoyJars, 64oz. plastic jars filled with fun, age-appropriate toys and activities to help cure bad days caused by cancer. Before she passed away, Jessie personally stuffed and delivered over 3,000 JoyJars. Since then, Jessie’s JoyJars and her NEGU motto have become global symbols of help and hope!
Every JoyJar costs $25 to fill and send to a child who needs it. When you give today, your support will ensure more kids fighting cancer receive a JoyJar, and the encouragement they need to NEGU. Our goal for the NASCAR Day Giveathon is to raise $5,000 to send a JoyJar to 200 more courageous kids.
