Boys & Girls Clubs of America's mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Boys & Girls Clubs of America's (BGCA) vision is to provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters their doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle. The national organization was founded in 1906, and chartered by congress in 1956. BGCA develops innovative programs and services for young people; provides training, technical assistance and resource materials to local clubs; promotes public awareness and support for the mission and impact of the Boys & Girls Club movement; and addresses social, educational, vocational and economic issues affecting young people. Clubs provide a safe place to learn and grow; ongoing relationships with caring, adult professional staff; life-enhancing programs; character development experiences; and hope and opportunity.
