Improving lives through the sport of swimming and beyond
The Michael Phelps Foundation (MPF) was established in 2008 to promote healthy, active lives, especially for children, primarily by expanding opportunities for children in the sport of swimming. With no universal learn-to-swim program in the U.S or around theworld, MPF set out to develop a comprehensive life skills program (IM) utilizing the basic principles that Michael applied throughout his decorated career, all of which begins with the fundamentals of water safety as a catalyst to encourage healthy lifestyles (physical and emotional) and the pursuit of dreams. Overcoming fears, facing adversity and developing goals are valuable skillsets that transcend swimming. So, too, is the significance of mental/emotional health. MPF is proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Special Olympics International to provide programming promoting comfortable and confident individuals, bothon land and in the water.
The organization's mission is to promote water safety, healthy living, and the pursuit of dreams, allowing everyont to become comfortable and confident in and out of the water.
Michael Phelps Foundation is a Charity participating in the NASCAR Day Giveathon 2025 a Giving Day event, presented by The NASCAR Foundation.
