Our mission is to educate individuals to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors, and inspire those in the transplant community to live their best lives. Our vision is to eliminate the wait for transplantation.
In 2024, CKF reached over 1.1 million individuals nationwide with its life saving message!
• Highlights from 2024: CKF hosted 4 webinars and sponsored 98 Donor Dudes events in 10 states. Our Toolkits for Teachers were downloaded 314 times! On National Donor Day, we hosted live and virtual blood drives, hosted an uphill ski event, and sponsored an advanced screening of Ordinary Angels in Aspen. During National Donate Life Month, we worked closely with Donor Alliance, establishing 7 local proclamations and participating in the Wyoming Donor Dash. Our Wine & Dine gala was a memorable night, recognizing our 4 CKF Award recipients. Our 4 teams for Unbound Gravel, Leadville 100 MTB, Leadville 100 Trail Run, and the New York City Marathon shared incredible stories across the US as they fundraised for CKF. The 19th Annual Summit for Life was one of our best ever for participation and fundraising.
• Notable Achievements so far in 2025: We have continued to build on last year’s momentum, hosting our 2nd Annual Sip N Save Campaign on National Donor Day, partnering with 63 coffee shops in 17 states. CKF is a proud new charity partner for the Sydney Marathon, and has expanded its participation in Realbuzz running events. We have expanded our Toolkits to the Legacy of Life Educational Series to better serve our communities; rebranded our Donor Stories to Beyond the Gift: The Untold Journeys, to be more inclusive for all aspects of the experience; and are updating the CKF Webinar Series to The Unspoken Podcast to increase our accessibility.
• Upcoming Programs and Events: This year, CKF will celebrate 22 years of organ, eye, and tissue donation advocacy. We hope you will continue to follow our Foundation and support our mission. Mark your calendars for Wine & Dine at the Snowmass Club on Friday, August 22 (tickets and tables on sale March 1), and the 20th Annual Summit for Life on Aspen Mountain on Saturday, December 6 (registration opens September 1).
Chris Klug Foundation (CKF) was founded in October 2003 by Olympic Bronze Medalist and liver transplant recipient, Chris Klug. Chris was 21 years old when he discovered he needed a new liver. He then spent 6 years on the transplant waitlist before receiving his life saving transplant. Just 18 months later, Chris won a Bronze Medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games. He started CKF to promote lifesaving organ, eye, and tissue donation, and work to improve the quality of life for those touched by transplantation. CKF uses the stories of transplant recipients, candidates, and organ donors to inspire, alongside events, school courses, and webinars to educate. All with the end goal of encouraging individuals to give the gift of life and register as organ donors.
Chris Klug Foundation is a Charity participating in the NASCAR Day Giveathon 2025 a Giving Day event, presented by The NASCAR Foundation.
