Closing gaps and opening opportunities so everyone in our community can succeed.
The United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties (UWVFC) was established in the Daytona Beach community in 1941 as the “Daytona Beach Community Fund.” It was organized under the Community Chest Model, providing funding to agencies serving Volusia and Flagler individuals in need. In 1983, the Community Foundation was added as a division of United Way. Our vision is that Community Foundation & United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties (CF/UWVFC) is recognized as the leading connector of people to causes that matter most to them. By continually identifying and re-evaluating community needs and assets, we provide the leadership and resources necessary to address those needs.
CF/UWVFC is unparalleled in our power to convene partners, providers and resources to address the needs of the community. We are reimagining a new normal that results in more equitable and resilient communities. We are also reimagining a collaboration between the private, public and non-profit sectors, to effectively drive real change in the community that equips them to better weather inevitable future crises. We take the long view, bringing people together to help communities recover, rebuild and thrive.
